Creativity with Illustrator

I was sort of not busy at work today, so I decided to see if I could build a vector image based on a photo that still looked like a photo - no harsh lines.... I think it came out pretty well! This may be my next tattoo!

WOW holy shit Jen, that's GREAT!!!! o man my illustrator skills are SERIOUSLY lacking! were you using live paint effects, or what? come, give us a how-to!

Thank you Ryon!!! No live paint, I'm working to master that technique. It was a lot of gradient meshes... It's so neat - it's one of the first times that I felt it was truly like painting (the way I used to, with oils and a canvas). Less mess though and a more forgiving canvas!
